NYE.

Tuesday 29 December 2015

Dress and boots: Both Zara (Sold out online, but currently on sale in stores).  Black Lipstick: Barry M.

Well hello there, my lovelies.

Did you all have a good Christmas? I'm hoping that you did. Mine was rather delightful, if you were wondering.

The only downside.. I now feel the size of a house (and a mansion at that!), due to the amount of food that I decided to consume. Not that I regret it one bit, but I am feeling the need to wear something loose fitting for New Year's Eve.

In general, I'm not one to venture into the city on NYE, it's usual a nice night in with the girls, a few bottles of wine and more food (The diet can start in January). And just because i'm not hitting the town, that does not mean I'll be lounging around in my pjs.

This dress is a perfect spin on an LBD. The white panelling and keyhole detail on the back, give it that little extra touch to make it something special.

What will you be wearing and what are your plans?

Chia pudding.

Wednesday 9 December 2015

Any returning readers may recall a post I created a few months ago called Acai bowl, in this post I mentioned that I was on a health kick.
Now, I am still on a health kick (with occasional weeks days off) and when i'm making effort with what I eat, I always make the time to make something more nutritious than grabbing a bag of crisps.

If you follow other food bloggers then you may have heard of the chia pudding already. I heard about it, was thoroughly intrigued and wanted to make my own.
This little bowl can be consumed as a breakfast, dessert or just a little snack when you're feeling peckish.

The key ingredient here are the chia seeds. Chia seeds are an amazing nutritious ingredient that sit in the superfood category. They can be used in almost anything, but when submerged in water they form a jelly like consistency (as you can see above).

Now, there are many different ways of creating this pudding and I have tried many. After tweaking a few recipes and a little bit of experimentation, this how I like it..

Ingredients:

4x table spoons of chia seeds (soaked in a container - leave in a fridge overnight),
1x chopped frozen banana,
250ml almond milk (or which liquid prefer),
1x table spoon maca powder,
1x teaspoon cinnamon powder,
1x table spoon of honey.

Place all ingredients into a a blender and blend until smooth.

For the topping I tend to use blackberries and an omega seed mix, but use whatever makes your heart content.

Please do not hesitate to let me know any other tasty or healthy recipes that I can try in the comments below!

Pleather.

Thursday 26 November 2015

 Dress: Zara. Clutch bag: Zara.

So, we are just on the fringe of December 2015.. How on earth did that little beauty roll around so quickly?

With December just on the horizon (next week in fact), this means the season of Christmas parties, festive meetings and indulgence.

It's safe to say, I truly can't contain my excitement.

When looking for that ultimate party dress, i'm a big fan of the delightfully classic LBD and
on one of my many (daily) walks through Zara, I clocked this lovely pleather shift dress.

For me, simplicity is key.
I love an outfit where there isn't a lot going on, so I can spend the majority of my time socialising, drinking and eating.. Cheese, olives, guacamole, bread (all types), cake, pasta.. Ok, I think i'll stop there.

Gig attire.

Wednesday 18 November 2015

Dress: Zara.  Boots: Office (Old)(Similar).

Live music.
I adore it.

The atmosphere, the people, the music.. I love it all.

Tomorrow night i'm going to go and see The Fratellis in Nottingham and I can't wait.

The perfect gig attire is something that enables you to jump around like lunatic when the moment takes you and this may be the perfect dress.

Stocked in Zara in shades of dark green, red and classic black. A delightful paisley bohemian number which looks dandy paired with over the knee boots in winter and sandals in summer.

Winner!

Dress: Asos (Daisy Street).  Mules - Zara (Old)(Similar).

There's a chill in air and i'm a wimp.

Solution = Coverage from head to toe.

This little number has been in my ASOS wish list for quite some time and when I saw it slip into the sale.. Joy filled my little heart.

Perfect time too!

Another thing that is perfect for this chilly season.. The hair tuck.
Very chic and more importantly.. Effortless.

Halloween Idea

Thursday 29 October 2015

Halloween is upon us everyone.

And I can truly say that I love this holiday, as it's an excuse for fancy dress. I'm currently in my mid twenties, so the opportunities for fancy dress are few and far between. So you forget how silly and fun it can be to get stuck in.

Something I don't enjoy is spending lots and lots of money on one costume that will only been worn once and then put in the cupboard to be forgotten about.

So..

If you are going to any fancy dress events or parties, have a look in your wardrobe and see what you have. You never know where inspiration may strike!

I found this old purple suit that I bought a few years ago, which reminded me of the late Heath Ledger's portrayal of the joker (The Dark Knight is a fabulous film, btw!).

All I needed was a green tie (sourced on eBay for £1) and some face paint (Pound shop). Then you just have to throw all the elements together.

And ta-daaa!

I have a few other halloween events to go to and just through looking at what I already have, I'm able to create some amazing costumes and spend hardly a penny.

Wherever you end up this Halloween.. Have fun!

Stepping into a/w.

Tuesday 20 October 2015
High street.

Oh, the quest for the perfect a/w boot.
It's time to pack away those sandals girls, but don't be sad as the boots currently on the market are a delight. The choice is incredible and I'm finding it hard to choose just one!
So i've put together a selection of a few of my favourite current pieces..

The high street is where you can find a myriad of different styles and prints for affordable prices.  Patent, croc, lace-up, leopard, snake, fringing and more, it's all there on the high street.

Now, when I'm going for super high quality, I look nothing further than Jones Bookmaker.
Slightly pricier than a few of the high street pieces, but these are more of an investment and will last you longer than a season.
If you're looking for something classic, something that will suit any outfit and something that will last   you for years to come.. Well, then look no further.

You may also notice that I am a sucker for their suede pieces. So dreamy!

Have you bought your a/w boots yet?

Moto.

Saturday 19 September 2015

Dress: Topshop (similar).

I do believe that you shouldn't use the term love, loosely. But when you know, you know..
I love this dress.

It makes me happy when I put it on.

I feel like it was made for me.

Do you ever feel like that about clothes? As soon as you see something, you just know?

I've worn it many a time since I purchased it (since sold out online unfortunately) and I can't wait to carry on wearing it through autumn/winter.

So readers, you have been warned.. You'll be seeing this delight again!
