Mules.

Thursday, 23 July 2015

Top: Daisy Street via ASOS. Tube skirt: Topshop (old). Clutch: New Look (Old)(Similar). Mules: ASOS.

When I was younger, I never ever understood mules. I just didn't 'get' how they would stay on and why you would want half a shoe.

Oh how things change!

I love a mule now. I do.
In fact, I have several (or more) pairs in my collection.

What items have you grown to love?

Glastonbury.

Sunday, 28 June 2015

Checked linen shirt: Vintage. Necklace: H&M(Similar). Black crop: New Look. Cream midi dress: Topshop (old)(Similar). Sandals: Next. Sunglasses: New Look.

We're nearing the end of Glastonbury and I'm so gutted that i'm not there. We tried and failed to get tickets, but there we go!

Now, if I did manage to go and enjoy the delights of Glasto, this is totally the type of outfit I would rock. I have been to quite a few festivals in my time, so if you're like me and like to get right to the front of crowds, then you need something lightweight and comfortable.

Hair up is totally a must!

Are you attending any festivals this year?

Layers in June.

Tuesday, 2 June 2015

Biker, Grey Tee and Roll-up Jeans: New Look. Midi Dress: Topshop (Similar). Cross Over Mules: H&M (Similar).

I don't know about you, but I most certainly can't keep up with this weather. One minute it's lashing it down with rain, and I'm sporting a summer dress with sunglasses (no umbrella of course!). The next minute it's ridiculously warm, but i've got a scarf and chunky knit jumper on.

I can't keep up!

On this particular day, it was incredibly grey and cold, but very bright (hence the squinting!). For days like these, I have reverted back to my favourite autumn/winter styling and gone for layers.. You can never really go wrong with layers.. FACT!

Oh, and the reason why i'm giggling in one of the photos, my little sister can't help but make me laugh. Love her!

One colour.

Wednesday, 27 May 2015

Silde split top: Warehouse. Trousers: New Look - Old (Similar). Necklace: Zara - Old (Similar). Patent shoes - Old (Similar).

I'm all about dressing in one colour.
Head to toe, including matching lipstick and all.

I would say, that if you're going to rock one colour and one colour only, there are a few rules that  will help make the outfit work:

-Vary textures (Knits, linen, leather, silk.. The options are endless),
-Use different shades of one colour, such as burgundy, red, oxblood etc,
and last, but by no means least,
-Break up bright colours with complimentary accessories.

And now you're ready!

Would you rock the one colour look?

Black dress.

Friday, 22 May 2015

Dress: Warehouse.  Jelly heels: Melissa (Old).

I definitely think the phrase 'Business in the front, party in the back' applies here.

I'm sure regular readers will remember from a previous post, that i'm a sucker for all things backless.
Another thing i'm a sucker for, is simple outfits when going out.

There's nothing I love more than a dress that does all the talking.
As you can see, a lovely black midi dress with sheer overlay and a nipped in waist. You really wouldn't need much in terms of accessories.. Simples!

Khaki.

Sunday, 17 May 2015

Jumpsuit: Zara. Sandals: ASOS (Old).

Now, there's a colour that has been calling out to me this season and that colour is *drum roll please*.. khaki. I bet you weren't expecting that, what with it being the title of this post!
It's a gorgeous muted colour, which pairs so well with a wide spectrum of colours and looks delightful on everyone.

I've also seen jumpsuits and playsuits doing the rounds, but I never feel like they'll suit me.
That's until I spotted this loose fitting, backless number. It's a lovely lightweight piece, that can be dressed down in the day, or throw on a pair of heels and dance away.
I also feel like being a curvier girl, it still provides me with shape, but doesn't cling to much!

What are your thoughts?
